Pacific Controls

Pacific Controls P/L started business in April 1987 operating out of a previous Fisher Controls office in Spring Hill, Brisbane. The Company had 4 founding members. At that time the designated territory for the Fisher Controls Representation was Queensland. As the business grew Fisher added the territory of Papua Nugini. We started to outstrip the Spring Hill office and in 1989 decided to search for a larger facility with workshop and store. We settled on a factory unit in the sleepy suburb of Bulimba, which at that time only had a pub and sandwich shop to choose from. How things changed over the next 10 years.
From 1989 to 2001 our company grew from 4 people to around 25 people. We expanded the Fisher valve and regulator business with outside and inside Sales Engineers, Field Service and Systems Engineering. We developed a substantial SCADA and RTU business with the Fisher ROC family of controllers as the basis,and moved into representation of other complimentary valve companies. Our Service business grew incrementally, and in 1999 we purchased a block of land in Love Street, Bulimba and built a dedicated Service Centre with employed 4 full time Service Technicians and Admin Controller.
By 2001 we had run out of space in both facilities in Bulimba and made the decision to sell up and move to Tingalpa, where we were lucky enough to find a suitable 1300 square metre building which would accommodate all aspects of the business.
In 2002 we made the decision to open a facility in Gladstone to provide local support of the Central Queensland Customers. The facility comprises office, workshop and warehouse in central Gladstone and currently employs 5 people.
Pacific Controls is now a company of 35 people and is the largest independent Instrument and Controls company in Queensland. We have a very proud and dedicated team of professionals and ,whilst things can get stressfull at times, we endeavour to have our staff enjoy their work and the challenges that this industry can bring.
