A conference on the Malaysian Property Outlook was jointly organised by property developer Encorp Berhad and Malaysia University of Science and Technology (MUST) on Friday at Putrajaya International Convention Centre.

The conference, themed ‘The Future of the Property Market in Malaysia’, aimed to provide an outlook on the economy and property market, as well as insights on current issues and developments within the property sector including green practices and new media.

The event was officiated by executive chairman and group chief executive officer of Encorp Berhad, Dato Sri Effendi Norwawi.

Speakers at the conference included chief economist at RAM Holdings, Dr Yeah Kim Leng; director of Ho Chin Soon Research, Ho Chin Soon; country manager for LOHAS Malaysia, Matthias Gelber; president of Institute of Value Management, Khairazan Hj Mansoor Roosnam Damha and managing director of Ellipsis, Jasmin Omar.

Effendi said, “The property industry is an important barometer of economic growth in the country, and there has been some vibrancy lately. In light of this, we wanted to provide a platform to present new ideas and insights by credible and respected individuals who have had extensive experience in their respective fields”.

Aside from an overview of the property market, topics presented covered the areas of new growth centres, value management, green technology and new media.

The conference attracted more than 100 industry leaders as participants, ranging from the financial, communications, marketing and business industries.

“Participants today consist of decision makers in their respective organisations and we hope that today’s event will provide them with a deeper understanding of areas most relevant to the property industry and their businesses, and in turn benefit them in terms of creating value in an ever changing environment with the advent of new innovations and technology,” added Effendi.
