UNITEN, the highest grant recipient among private universities for EScience Fund from MOSTI.

A ceremony was held by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) MOSTI in Universiti Putra Malaysia on the 17 September 2007 to officially handover MOSTI grants. The ceremony, “Majlis Penyampaian Geran Penyelidikan 2007” was attended by both Dato’ Sri Dr. Jamaluddin Jarjis, the Minister of MOSTI and Dato’ Mustapa Mohamed, The Higher Education Minister.  In the ceremony, UNITEN received 31 research grants under EScience, with the value estimated at RM5.2 million. This placed UNITEN 7th in rank, among the recipient institutions which includes public and private universities and research institutions in the year 2007. It is also the highest among private institutions (refer to the table below). This achievement proves that UNITEN is committed to research excellence and promotes research and development activities, in tandem with its excellence in tertiary education. It also proves that being a private entity does not hinder UNITEN's efforts to actively participate in research and development activities, at par with the public universities. Congratulations!
